We at the Douglasville Police Department want to express our gratitude for the men and women in the armed forces who actively serve or have served in the US Military. What better way to show our appreciation than a cookout and fun time allowing active duty and veterans to attend a day on our front lawn with their family members? We hope all military members will join us as we celebrate together on June 11, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. We will be cooking out hamburgers and hot dogs while playing games on the front lawn. Bring your lawn chairs and Adirondacks and set up to enjoy a warm summer day. We would like to have a good head count, you do not need to sign up, but if you know how many people will be in your party we would appreciate anyone who can advise us ahead of time for food purposes.
Douglasville Police Department is having a Town Hall Meeting at the Police Department Community Building located at 2083 Fairburn Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135. We will be discussing Active Shooter and law enforcement protocols in Douglas County. Active shootings/killings are tragedies that are seen on the news, but few take the steps to prepare for such an unimaginable event. The Douglasville Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and Douglas County School System Police Department will be presenting information on what an Active Shooter/Killer is and how individuals can train and prepare to respond during an Active Shooter/Killer incident.
